Information for health professionals
(GPs and Physiotherapists)
When assessing a patient for referral these are the best imaging:
- Suspected hip arthritis: X-ray only (not MRI).
The x-rays needed are AP of both hips and a lateral of the affected hip. - Suspected knee arthritis: X-ray only (not MRI).
The x-rays needed are Rosenberg, lateral, skyline and a long leg standing view of the affected knee. - Non-arthritic knee problem: MRI
- I do not offer hip arthroscopy
I am happy to see other orthopaedic conditions, but I focus on hip and knee surgery to maximise efficiency. I may refer your patient to another consultant if needed.
